Can a smile save a life? I believe it can and if we just try to be a little more positive or just nicer to the people and our enviorment I firmly believe we could get rid of a lot of the negative energy harboring in our society! Racism, depression, and even suicide are brought on by ourselves through our negative actions and if we create positive actions we will get positive reactions!
Everyday when a person wakes up they are encountered with a choice to either be an optimistic or a pessimistic person. One has the decision to define the right side of the bed as always on the right or if there is no right and if it is really in the attitude just like if the cup is always have full or half empty. The choice to be optimistic is a decision to expect the worst but hope for the best instead of bringing upon the worst by being a pessimist and not giving success a fighting chance. People never really give thought to how thinking positively or negatively can really affect the outcome of their day, if it plays a role in success, or if it is the reason why people flock towards or away from them. How about we take a little more in depth dive about the attributes of an optimistic and the pessimistic person by analyzing how positive and negative thinking can affect us in everyday life situations. A positive person always looks at the upside of things therefore struggles for success because in his eyes it is plausible while negative people immediately rejects the thought and limit themselves. An optimistic person does not believe in limits rather mental blocks while a pessimistic person creates an impenetrable wall in his head and believes that is truly as far as he will go not knowing that his body is a machine and our brain the motherboard has unlimited power. A person’s subconscious mind influences our actions, thoughts, and reactions in every which way. When comparing rhetoric from a positive to a negative thinker you are encountered with many different word choices that affect and create those mental blocks that stop people from reaching their full potential or expanding their limits. Lets say for an example we have two people; one the optimistic go lucky Steve and the other the pessimistic always grumpy Bob and they are rock climbing both of equal stature in skill, strength, and height. There is a particular wall that is especially difficult and neither can get up so Bob quits and says “I cannot do it”, immediately his subconscious mind registers that this obstacle is impossible to overcome. On the other hand you have Steve that says “I cannot do it yet” and his subconscious mind registers this as not impossible but not yet plausible and trains to come back. Steve comes back and overcomes this obstacle a week later while Bob had come to terms with the fact that he could not do it and gave up right at the get go. “Do not let the negativity given to you by the world disempower you. Instead give to yourself that which empowers you.” When we engulf ourselves in negative thoughts we are blinding ourselves to the possibility that there might be another way to go up that wall. The attitude that Bob choose ultimately stopped him from reaching the top but Bob himself is a dynamic person and has the choice to change his attitude at any moment. If Bob decided to become more aware of his thoughts, on how they affected his performance, personal life, and overall happiness he would realize that there is already enough negativity in the world and there is no need to add to it. If Bob where a little more optimistic like Steve and would not have given up he himself would have reached the top like Steve and would not be asking himself for the rest of his life, “What if?” Positive thinking implies moving forward, while negative thinking implies regressing. In a world where everything goes 100mph it is essential for people to open their minds to new ideas, ways of running a business, or even their definition of success. An optimistic person acknowledges that there are no failure only results and that true success isn’t in the final product rather in the actual process. There are so many benefits in thinking positively that it doesn’t make sense to even consider to be a pessimistic person or be around them because there are only drawbacks to that type of thinking that ultimately lead to self destruction. |
