By:Octaviano Luis Longoria, Certified Personal Trainer

People tend to think that stress is inevitable and uncontrallable and ultimately it will dictate and always be in our lives no matter what we do. I do agree that stress will be there at every corner, or every time a car cuts you off, even when you are late to work, but I also belive we have to fight stress and really try to relax. Just take a couple of deep breaths no reason to be get so worked up! Okay I understand that you might lose your job or that you won't make a good first impression but what you don't understand is that stress really affects the body!

Stress is debilitating and can lead to depression, anxiety, skin problems, heart problems, diabetes, high blood pressure, trouble sleeping, irritablity, and the list goes on. Know those little things like maybe losing a job over something you can't change or probably not making the best first impression seems small in comparison to the importance of your health!

We truly need to take time out of our busy lives to relax it could be just taking some short breaths, taking up yoga, meditation, reading, or just listening to some soothing music. You have to understand though you need to let your body unwind and then reinforce it with positive actions like eating right which would be doing something for yourself. Sleeping at least 8 hours a day which is vital for our mind and body to recuperate.

Exercise, get moving, any physical activity will not only relieve the stress in the muscles but improve your mood as well as including other great benifits like boosting good cholestrol levels and lowering the trygliceride levels, improving mood, and just overall vitality.

In conclusion stress isn't good for you and you should set aside time out of your busy life to do something for you! To improve your quality of life, longetivity, vitality, mood, and just really help yourself! So try to relax, write down your feelings if you would like, find professional help if you need it but don't bottle up your feelings and your thoughts talk to a friend just get rid of stress in your life. Out with the bad in with good!
